Hey there! I'm your friendly neighbourhood chiropractor here at Serenity Chiropractic and I figured it was due time to give you a little more insight into me as a person!
I was born and raised right here in beautiful Fredericton and let me tell you, I have a very big appreciation for this city after living away for 5 years while pursuing my career. This city holds my hearts and for those who have asked me, I have no intention of ever leaving - It's safe to say your stuck with me!
Anyway, back to the purpose of this post. I wanted to give you a little peak behind the curtain so you can get to know me a little more outside of being a Chiropractor, or perhaps its a post that will help put you at ease if you're thinking about starting chiropractic care with me.
As a teenager and young adult, I struggled with migraines that seemed as stubborn as New Brunswick winters. After trying just about everything, I finally found relief through chiropractic care and acupuncture. That experience gave me a whole different persepctive on pain and pain relief and sparked a passion in me to help others feel their best without invassive procedures or heavy medication. There is a time and place for everything, but manual therapies and chiropractic are, in my opinion, an under-utilized health care service
The start of my career began at the University of New Brunswick studying Pre-Health Profession Biochemistry, but that wasn’t the end of my educational journey (i.e roller coaster). I packed my bags and headed to Upstate New York to attend New York Chiropractic College, where I dove into the science of movement, diagnosis, adjusting and everything that goes into making people feel great from the inside out as a Chiropractor.
When I’m not in the office, you can usually find me out in "the wild"—exploring trails, soaking up the summer sun (my favourite season), traveling to new places, snowboarding in the winter and crossing adventures off my bucket list (eight countries and counting!). Whether I’m hiking a mountain or curled up with a great book and good music, I’m always ready for the next adventure. I also classify myself as a "plant parent", though anyone who knows me knows I loose my green thumb every now and then (R.I.P to all my cacti and dead plants).
At the end of the day, I'm a pretty laid back person that does my best to go with the flow and as a chiropractor I believe health should be fun, purposeful, functional, and just a bit flexible. So, if you’re looking for a bit of relief, or maybe just a friendly face to chat with about your health, I’m here, ready to lend a hand (or an adjustment!).
I hope to meet and hear more about you someday as well!
Talk soon,
Dr. P
