Understanding Tennis and Golfers Elbow: How Chiropractic Care Can Help

If you've ever experienced persistent elbow pain after playing tennis, golf, or even from repetitive activities like typing, paddling, lifting among many others, you might be dealing with epicondylitis. Commonly known as tennis or golfers elbow, these are overuse injuries that result from repetitive motions, leading to inflammation and discomfort around the elbow joint.

Tennis elbow typically affects the outside of the elbow, while golf elbow targets the inside. Both can limit your range of motion and make everyday activities, like gripping or lifting, painful. It also tends to be more stubborn since the ligaments in this region are the most irritated and their blood supply is much less than the surrounding musculature. The good news is, there are effective ways to manage and relieve these conditions—and that’s where chiropractic care can come in.

As a chiropractor, I help evaluate and diagnose the root cause of your elbow pain through a comprehensive assessment of your joint mechanics, and movement patterns. Using chiropractic adjustments we create mobility and take strain out of the joint and through soft tissue modalities we bring in blood flow, flush out inflammation and take tension out of the muscles and ligaments contributing to the issue. Graston-style techinque and active cupping help to achieve these positive changes.

By addressing both the joint and the soft tissue and introducing effective rehab exercises, we can take a well-rounded approach to your elbow health, allowing you to get back to your game or activities with less pain and more ease.

If you're struggling elbow pain, know that as a chiropractic I’m here to help and can get you back on track. Let’s work together to manage your pain and keep you moving at your best!
